For potlucks, holidays and Sunday dinners

Who’s bringing what, and everyone’s own shopping list.

Shared Fork keeps the family meal straight. Claim a dish, share the cooking, and each person gets a list of just what they need to buy, right down to the crabs that have to be ordered two weeks ahead.

Free for everyone. Works on any phone, and best added to your Home Screen.

Sample One person’s list for the family Thanksgiving

Three steps, and nobody buys the rice twice.

  1. 1

    Plan the menu

The host adds the dishes and sends one link to the family group chat. Nobody has to download anything.

  2. 2

    Claim a dish

Everyone sees what’s open and what’s taken. Claim one, add the dish you’re already planning, or help with someone else’s.

  3. 3

    Get your own list

Attach your recipe and each ingredient lands on the list of whoever is buying it. Tick things off in the store.

One gumbo, three kitchens.

The hard dishes are the shared ones. You make the roux and bring the andouille. Your daughter in Chicago picks up the shrimp and the crabs. Gulf crabs have to be ordered two weeks out, so they sit at the top of her list in gold until they’re done.

Each person sees their own part, the cook keeps the recipe, and nothing gets forgotten or bought twice. If a gumbo works, everything simpler does too.

Made for the whole family, from Grandma to the teenagers.

  • Easy to read

Big, clear type made for readers with low vision, and plain words throughout.

  • Works in the store

Your list stays on your phone, so it works with no signal. Ticks catch up when you’re back online.

  • No passwords

Sign in with a code sent by email, then with Face ID or your fingerprint after that.

  • Order-ahead reminders

Anything that needs ordering early rises to the top of your list, soonest first, in gold.

Private by default. Your recipes stay yours.

Recipes

A recipe is private unless you share it. Attach it to a dish and your helpers see only the ingredients they’re buying, never your steps.

Allergies

Hosts can see your allergies so they can plan, and you can turn that off. Alerts are based on the listed ingredients and always say to check with the cook.

No ads, no tracking

Shared Fork shows no ads, sells nothing about you, and doesn’t track you. The app has one sign-in cookie, and that’s all. This website counts visits with Plausible, which uses no cookies and no personal data.

From potluck to keepsake.

Gather the family’s recipes into a cookbook, each one credited to its cook with the story behind it. Download it as a PDF to print, share, or give at the next reunion.
